Introduction:
Bar chart is simple way to represent the data in bar, it is simple and informative to compare values between the different items and also it can be used for Trend analysis, simple chart can be design easily, below are the steps to create bar chart in SAP Analytics Cloud.
first you need to connect with data set either using Excel data or live connection, so that at least you have measures and dimension to bring into the chart layout.
Steps: Bar Chart In SAP Analytics Cloud
Step 1:
- Start your story canvas and insert chart option in story body
- Blank chart layout look like as shown below image
- Right side you will see the window with Designer option which have all chart type option
Step 2:
Designer option have below options to design and edit the chart layout
- Chart Structure
- Chart Orientation
- Measures
- Dimensions
- Color
- Filters
- Properties
Step 3:
- Now select the measures, for this chart we have selected two measure “Total Cost” and “Total Profit“
- By default it will show horizontal bar chart once you will select any measures, but you can change horizontal bar to vertical bar chart using “Chart orientation” option
Step 4:
- Now select the Dimensions and here we are selecting “Item Type”
- “Item Type” will show on x-axis automatically
Step 5:
- Now you can change the orientation of chart from Horizontal to vertical as shown in below image with option
Step 6:
- You can also sort the bar chart using sort option on 3-dots on right top corner of Chart layout
- Follow marked options 1, 2, 3, 4 in below image
Step 7:
- Now you can change the color of bar chart from Color option
- here we have changed color for “total cost” as purple and “Total Profit” as green color
Finally you can see below image is the Bar chart in SAP analytics cloud. You can play around more formatting using layout option on right side window.
