Mostly people use two type of sorting Ascending and descending sort. However may time users need to sort rows and graph as per their requirement which is called custom sort. In this tutorial you will see how can you do custom sort in SAP analytics cloud.
Custom sort in SAP Analytics Cloud is very advance and useful. You can use custom sort to save it with name and you can use that custom sort in any where within story, dashboard, table and any chart like Combined chart, Stacked chart etc.., only condition is that you should connected to same data source
let se below steps with example how you can perform custom sort.
Steps: custom sort in SAP analytics cloud
Step 1:
- First make one table layout
- As in below image we have table layout with “Event” as rows and “No of event” as column
Step 2:
- Now select on “Event” header and right click > click on Sort Options > Add custom Order
Step 3:
- You will see new window on right side as “Edit member Order”
- You will see all rows items in that window as shown in red box in below image
Step 4:
- You can select rows items and shuffle / sort accordingly your requirements and click on OK
- As you can see we have did the custom sorted as per below
- Flyers
- Instore Event
- University Events
- Online Promotions
Step 5:
- After Custom sort, If you will select “Event” header and right click > click on Sort Options > Add custom Order, You will see the Custom Order and also you will see Edit pencil option by which you can rename this custom sort and use in future
How can you use custom sort in Graph
Step 1:
- If you will create Graph with same data source as shown below image
Step 1:
- Just click on 3 dots and then > Sort > Event > Custom Order 1
- You will see the same sort of bar chart as per the order you have decided in the beginning
Below is the graph and table both have same order of event as per the custom sort. this is very good feature in SAP analytics cloud that after creation of one custom sort you can use anywhere
