Good to know about Pie 🙂 ….. Pie chart is a circular statistical graphic presentation of numbers, which is divided into slices to demonstrate numerical proportion. In a pie chart, the length of each slice is proportional to the quantity it represents and it is easy to design Pie chart in Tableau.
Pie charts are very widely used in the business world and the mass media. Sometime, it is difficult to compare different sections of a given pie chart, or to compare data across different pie charts. Pie charts can be replaced in most cases by other plots such as the bar chart, dot plot, etc.
Below small data set has been used to design the Pie chart
Steps:
- First drag the dimension on Rows on which you like to create the pie chart
- Then after that select the Pie option from Marks area drop down option and
- Once you will select Pie option it will create circle chart. The you need to drag the item time on colour mark and Total profit on Angel area as shown below. you will see the Pie chart, you can also change the colour of Pie chart using colour option in Mark area.
- To make you pie chart more attractive to show each slice separated by another colour then you can change the boarder of the pie chart with lighter colour compare to pie chart colour. as you can see below in screenshot.
- and you can change colour from Colour option and go to boarder and select lighter colour from there.
These steps are Easy to design Pie chart in tableau, you can change the row and column dimension based on your view how you liked to show the pie chart in your dashboard.
