Linked analysis in SAC (SAP Analytics cloud) is an one of the useful feature/feasibility, which allows you to interact with different charts and tables within one filters. Meaning when you apply page filter on one chart within your story/dashboard then you can also see the actions in the other related charts or tables on same page of story.
In this article you will learn the step by step guide/procedure about, how you can create Linked Analysis in SAC.
Below is the example with two different chart to show you how linked analysis worked, how you can apply linked analysis in sac and how you can remove linked analysis.
Steps: Linked Analysis in SAC
Step1:
- You can see below image, we have two charts, Bar chart and Pie chart on same page and we would like to apply filter on this page to apply linked analysis
- If we will create Page filter on this page then Page filter will automatically linked will all object/charts on the same page
- So we will use Linked analysis to remove linked between these two chart, follow below steps.
Step2:
- First you need to click on Filter option from Insert Menu
- You will see page filter on left top corner of page
Step3:
- Once you will click on page filter it will show you Dimension and Measures, you can select filter options between these two
Step4:
- We have sleeted dimension = “country”
- then it will open new window for Country members
- Select all Members and click on Okay (it will show country filter on page)
Step5:
- So the country page filter will look like as shown below image (as show below image)
Step6:
- If you will select any country then it will applied dynamically to both charts on this page
- Now you can use Linked Analysis feature to remove this link (as show below image)
Step7:
- Click on 3 dots of page filter area
- you will see “Linked Analysis” option then clicked on that option (as show below image)
Step8:
- After clicked on “Linked Analysis” option, you will se Linked analysis window on right side
- where by default selected radio button for “All widgets on the page” (as show below image)
Step9:
- Just select second radio button called “Only selected Widgets”
- You will see multiple check boxed with all widgets name on this page
- the you can select only those widget on which you want to apply filters
- Now we have selected on bar chart widget (as show below image)
Step10:
- You can see if we changed the filter in country its only changing the Bar chart, but Pie chart is still showing total value (as show below image)
