What is Input Control in Sap Analytics cloud ?
Input control in SAC is a widget which can be used to view data from various perspectives by allowing filtering on dimensions or measures. SAP Analytics Cloud allow you to control your input data just by a radio button to change the dimension and measure in graph or table view. This functionality (input control) is really helpful to your stories and dashboard design. You can use both dimension and measure input control in sap analytics cloud as filter to change the view of table and chart.
In this blog, we will guide you how you can create measure Input Control widget available in SAP Analytics Cloud Story.
In below, we have taken example with Numeric point chart and bar chart, where we will guide you how you can change measure input control in SAC.

Steps: Measure Input Control
Step 1:
- As you can see below image we have one graph and another numeric KPI and both are showing “Total Profit” as measure
- Now we will use Measure input functionality to provide flexibility to change the “Total Profit” with other measures
Step 2:
- Now select numeric KPI box and click design window (you can do with graph selection also)
- You will see the Measures and primary value “Total Profit“
Step 3:
- Next step to clcik on “+ Add Measure”
- Now scroll down and you will see another option called “+ create Measure input Control“, click on that
Step 4:
- Now, it will open the window for all Measures available in you data set
- Select Measure which you want to show as input control
- Now click OK
Step 5:
- Once you will click on OK you will see the rectangular box on left top side of your story board
Step 6:
- Now expand the rectangular box and you will se both measures in the box
Step 7:
- Now select “Total Revenue” measure you will se Numeric KPI changed into “Total Revenue” , but bar chart is still showing “Total profit”. Because this measure input is connected to Numeric KPI box only not with bar chart
Step 8:
- Now next step to connect input control box with bar chart also.
- then click on bar chart and open designer window
- Go to Measure and select “New Measure Input Control” option.
Step 9:
- Now you can se with selection of measure it changes both view on story page.
- In this way you can create Measure Input control in SAP Analytics Cloud.
