Sometime you need to rename rows items in table format layout, which is important to read and understand the rows items more clearly. example, if you have “Order Priority” in backend data as C, H, L, M which is called Critical, High, Low, and Medium. below steps you will see how you can rename rows items in SAP Analytics Cloud.
Why need renaming Row?
Rename rows is useful to clean and lean the data presentation in tabular form which makes end user to read and understand the data more clearly. Rename row functionality you can also use in Rows calculation feature as well. In the below steps we will see the example of “Order Priority” rows items
Steps: Rename Rows Items in SAP Analytics Cloud
Step 1:
- Let make table layout first
- select one measures and dimensions as columns and rows to make table layout
- As shown below image we have selected “Order Priority” as rows (dimension)
- and Order Priority contain C, H , L, M lets rename this as Critical, High, Low, and Medium.
Step 2:
- Select rows “C” > right click > Add Calculation > Accumulative Sum > Single
Step 3:
- You will see new rows as “Accumulative Sum”
Step 4:
- Now double click on “Accumulative Sum” cell and rename it as Critical
Step 5:
- Now again right click on C row and then click on Hide row option
Step 6:
- Repeat the step 2 for H rows
- Select rows “H” > right click > Add Calculation > Accumulative Sum > Single
- You will see new rows as “Accumulative Sum” double click and rename it as High
- Now again right click on “H” row and then click on Hide row option
Step 7:
- Repeat the steps for “L” and “M” rows as well
- and rename it into Low and Medium
- You will see Hidden blue marked text in Table detail area, next step you can see how you can hide that.
Step 8:
- To hide Hidden text click on 3dots on table layout > The Show/Hide option > Uncheck Table Details
- Now you can see below the final table with rename of rows items in SAP analytics cloud
