Introduction: SAP Analytics Cloud table formatting
To show data in table/grid format are very effective way of displaying data, specially when you have more measures to show as columns. In table, if you will highlights the major impacted area in form of colours or symbols in cell to set based on some threshold condition then it will be very impactful to quickly analyse the data. This is where you can use SAP Analytics Cloud conditional formatting for table.
Conditional formatting uses thresholds to provide visual effect of your data information, so that you can quickly see which areas are doing well, and which areas may need improvements. When you apply conditional formatting in SAP Analytics Cloud,
Basic Steps
- You can set threshold or multiple ranges using condition formation option for table
- you can select symbols which do you want to put available in drop down option.
- for one range You do not need to set both an upper and a lower bound.
- When you add more ranges, you can leave either the upper or lower bound empty.
Steps: Conditional formatting for Tables – SAP Analytics Cloud
Step 1:
- Start your story and insert canvas option in story board
- Select table option in the story board to see the table structure layout
Step 2:
- Right side you will see the window with designer option
- Select the rows and Columns as shown in below image
Step 3:
- Now go to the more option from top menu bar and select “Condition Formatting”
Step 4:
- You will see the “Condition Formatting” window on right side
- Click on Threshold option as mentioned in below image in red box
Step 5:
- Now in Threshold window you can enter the range of number on which you would like to apply the condition formatting
- In below range, we have selected in Red and Yellow colour for few numbers range and based on that numbers the same colors symbol will appears in column
Step 6:
- you can also change the colors of Symbols from more colors option and you can select what colours you want
Step 7:
- Once you will complete all this steps and click on apply button after setting threshold
- it will not reflect the Condition formatting in that column
- it will show you table same as it was previously
Step 8:
- You need to right click on the column header on which you applied the condition
- You will see menu > click on Thresholds > Story Defined > Total Cost (name of header)
- once you will select this option your “condition formatting” will start appearing in that particular column
More to know
above steps is only to format columns based on color symbols but you can also change the formatting for Text, Cells background color and many more option from style window.
