Scatterplot Chart in SAC

Introduction: The scatterplot chart in SAC allows the user to determining the trends of any dimension for large scope of data. For example, if you input product information, including cost, unit cost, profit etc, you need to show of plotted points that represents the pool of product information.

With scatterplot chart you can easily identify that why certain products items were selling better than others or why certain regions and markets were purchasing more than others.

below are the step wise guide how you can design scatterplot chart in SAC and how you can do grouping scatterplot chart in SAC.

Steps: Scatterplot Chart In SAC

Step 1:

  • Open your story page and insert blank chart frame on story page
  • Click on the chart you will see the right side window with designer option which have all chart type option
  • Select the scatterplot chart option as shown in the below image

  • Now select Measures for X-Axis and Y-Axis, as shown in the below image. We have selected Unit cost and Units
  • Then select Dimension as we have selected Product
  • Now finally you will see the scatterplot chart in SAC, this will represent as small circle of dots with the variation of product based on Unit Cost vs Cost

  • Sap analytics provides the grouping feature in Scatterplot chart in SAC.
  • This grouping is based on measures which you have selected
  • As shown in the below image we have “Enable Smart Grouping” and SAC grouped as Group1 blue color and Grpup2 as orange color
  • You can also apply page filter to see scatterplot chart on different dimensions

  • If you would like to increase grouping you can enter number on “Number of Groups”
  • As shown in the below image, chart as now 3 group Blue dot, orange dot and green dot.
  • The grouping is based on measure selected in chart

Conclusion:

The scatterplot chart is the good way to see the distribution of product or any dimensions based one measures, it gives the clear picture how the product is performing and which product have higher and lower distribution based on measure selected.
