Introduction:
Stacked area chart in SAC is used to show the trends in line form with fills areas between the lines. It is helpful if you want to see how much area is covered with the product, region, or items. If the quantity and amount is high then the area between the line shows bigger then others areas.
Below you will se step wise guide how you can design Stacked area chart:
Steps: Stacked Area Chart In SAC
Step 1:
- Open your story canvas and insert chart option in body of story
- It will insert the blank chart layout as shown below image
- Right side you will see the window with designer option which have all chart type option
- select the Stacked Area chart option
Step 2:
- Now select the Measures one or more then one
- And then select the Dimension on which you want to see the trend
- After selection of measures and dimension stacked Area chart will looked like as show below image.
Step 3:
- Now you can format the data label orĀ scaling factor from format panel on right side
- change scale to thousand or what is good for you as per you dataset
- Then select decimal place its also depends on your formatting requirement. please see below image as example

Step 4:
- you can see that the default color would be blue and orange , if you ant to change the stacked area chart color as per your organization standard color then you can change from color option. As shown below image
Conclusion:
Stacked area chart in Sac is the powerful way to show the trend for your dataset, its totally depends which chart you would like to show for trend , How ever stacked area chart in sac i always good to show if you would like to show trend and same time how big area do you have.
