Trend analysis is one of the best way to analyse your data as compare with month on month, Quarter on Quarter and year on year. SAP analytics cloud have new kind of chart called Time series chart. Which plot the data in time frame in line chart by default.
You will see below options on the top of chart, and with the selection of these option you will have the slider on X-axis to see that frame of data as line chart.
- 1M = 1 Month
- 3M = 3 Month
- 6M = 6 Month
- YTD = Year to Date
- 1Y = 1 Year
- All = all month available
Let follow below steps with example to see how you can create Time series chart in Sap analytics cloud
Steps: Time series chart in Sap analytics cloud
Step 1:
- Select Chart layout in story board
- Select Trend > then Time series chart from right side Builder window
Step 2:
- Now select one measure on which you would like to see trend and select one Time as dimension
- Remember Time should always be Date data type
- As you can see below we have selected one Measure = Gross Margin and Time = Date
Step 3:
- You can se on left side above the chart you gave below options to select and see the Time series chart accordingly
- 1M = 1 Month
- 3M = 3 Month
- 6M = 6 Month
- YTD = Year to Date
- 1Y = 1 Year
- All = all month available
Step 4:
- If you will select YTD you can see below Selection of slider will get change accordingly
- once you will slide the slider on X-axis it will show next YTD
Step 5:
- Same, If you will select 6M , you can see below Selection of slider will get change accordingly
- once you will slide the slider on X-axis it will show next 6M
Step 6:
- Same, If you will select 3M , you can see below Selection of slider will get change accordingly
- once you will slide the slider on X-axis it will show next 3M
Note: you will see below graph trend is also changing according the selection of time series
