Introduction:
Tree Map in SAP Analytics Cloud provides a hierarchical view of your data, such as which items are a store’s best sellers. The tree branches are represented by rectangles and each sub-branch is shown as a smaller rectangle. In this post we will design Tree Map chart.
Tree Map Used for what?
A Tree Map chart provides a hierarchical view of your data and makes it easy to spot patterns. it is always in rectangular boxes and each rectangle shows the size of items and colours. Which is easy to analyse its number, percentage and color range to see which are the most impacted area and focus area organization should focus.
In below example you will see the same for “Items Type” dimensions
Steps: Tree Map Chart in SAP Analytics Cloud
Step 1:
- Start your story canvas and insert chart option in story body
- Blank chart layout look like as shown below image
- Right side you will see the window with Designer option which have all chart type option
- Select the Tree Map chart from Distribution option in Chart Structure as show below image
Step 2:
- Now select Measures and dimension from right side Builder Window
- We have selected Measure as “Total profit” and Dimensions as “Item type” in below image
- Then you can see Tree Map chart in rectangular form, How ever default color should be blue
- If you want to change color see below steps
Step 3:
- Now from right side Builder window you can select color range from color Drop down option
- we have selected range from Blue to red and its include 5 split of colors
- Below step you can see how can change the range color
Step 4:
- Click on range drop down option on + sigh and you will see below window of color Palette type
- You can remove color split range or add as well according to your requirement
Step 5:
Finally you can see below Tree Map chart in SAP analytics cloud. You can play around more formatting using layout option on right side window.
