What is Trellis in SAC?
Trellis in SAP Analytics Cloud is the option, which can be used to create multiple charts dynamically for any kind of chart. meaning you can see multiple chart on single chart frame. Scales value axis automatically, but default scaling could be optimal or could not be. It will depend on chart scaling factor.
Below we have taken example of simple bar chart, which will helpful for you to understand it more easy. In below we have explain step-wise guide, how to use option for Trellis in SAP Analytics Cloud.
In below, we will show how we can create multiple chart for region bar chart using option of of trellis to create chart with dimension “sales channel”. Trellis can also be use to create multiple Pie chart, line chart etc …
Steps: Trellis in SAP Analytics Cloud
Step 1:
- First create simple bar chart as show below image
- Or you can chose any other chart like line, pie, stack bar etc …
Step 2:
- Now select 3 dots on the top right corner of chart area, this 3 dot will show you once you will select chart.
- Then click on “Add” option, as shown below image
- Now click on “Trellis” option as show n below image
Step 3:
- After lick you will see the trellis option on designer box area, as shown below image
- Now click on “add dimension” on which you would like to create multiple chart.
- We have selected “Sales Channel” dimension.
Step 4:
- After selection of dimension you will see multiple chart in same frame of single chart
- in our below example “sales channel” have two members “Offline” and “Online”. So, the Trellis divided the bar chart into two chart.
- So splitting of chart is totally depends on how many members do you have in one dimension

Step 5:
- If you like to make this multiple chart into more appealing way, then you can add color on same dimension
- we have divide into blue and orange colour of bar chart for members “Offline” and “Online”. As shown below image
