In SAP analytics cloud waterfall chart shows how the value is increased and decreased between two set of period and leading to a final cumulative value shown in the far right column. The middle values can either be time-based or category based.
Waterfall chart used for what?
Waterfall Charts are used to visually how a starting value of something (let take initial monthly balance) becomes a final value (the balance at the end of the month) through an intermediate values which shows increase and decrease among these two months.
Steps: SAP Analytics Cloud Waterfall Chart
Step 1:
- Insert Chart layout in story board
- Select waterfall chart from Comparison chart option
Step 2:
- Now select one Measures as you can see below chart selected “Quantity sold”
- Select dimensions as in below image selected Date
Step 3:
- However in waterfall chart we need two Dimensions so we have selected Product as well
- And in below chart you will se increase and decrease of product values between the date
Step 4:
- you can se on right side we have one total bar you can exclude that bar
Step 5:
- After excluding the bar you will see the only year bar and between that increasing and decreasing bar for product count
- In below image Waterfall chart have only grey color but in next step you will see the change color option
Step 6:
- you can change the color of increase and decrease number using colour option on right side builder bar
- It will show by default green and red color, but you can change many colors from color option
Step 7:
- And finally you can use filter / control option to select only two date to see the performance of product between any two date as shown below image.
- You can select hierarchy also to break year into month and so on.
